The Board of Trustees and staff of the Kurt Weill Foundation extend their sympathy and condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Barbara Brecht-Schall, who passed away on 31 August at the age of 84. As the administrator of the estate of Bertolt Brecht, Ms. Brecht-Schall was a frequent partner with the Foundation as we worked together to protect the interests of two of the twentieth century’s most influential theater artists. We will miss her strong and independent spirit, and the Stollen that she so kindly sent the Foundation every Christmas.
