The Kurt Weill Foundation administers a collection of programs designed to nurture the careers of emerging performers, conductors and directors, along with prizes for important new scholarship. In facilitating these programs, we seek to embody the Foundation's commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Julius Rudel/Kurt Weill Conducting Fellowship supports one or more conductors in the early stages of a professional career who are interested in assisting a master conductor in the preparation of a performance or production of the works of Kurt Weill and/or Marc Blitzstein.
The Harold Prince/Kurt Weill Fellowship offers an opportunity for emerging and mid-career directors who are members or associate members of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society to assist a master director on a stage work of Kurt Weill and/or Marc Blitzstein.
Performing arts organizations and educational institutions may request support to engage conductors, directors, coaches, and coach/performers who have been designated “Kurt Weill Mentors” by the Kurt Weill Foundation. The purpose of a Kurt Weill Mentor’s involvement is to enhance the performance of Weill’s or Blitzstein’s stage or concert work.
