Dave Stein Archivist
1993 -
Dave Stein has spent his entire career—over 25 years—in the Weill-Lenya Research Center. At first Assistant Archivist under David Farneth, he has been Archivist since 2002. In that capacity, he has assisted numerous researchers, advised the Managing Editor of the Kurt Weill Edition, and supported other Foundation programs and staff members, not to mention learning a great deal about Weill and Lenya along the way. Since 2015, Dave has also served as Editor of the Kurt Weill Newsletter. He has degrees in English from Vanderbilt and the University of Virginia, very useful given Weill’s predilection for working with major writers, and he received extensive library training at Virginia as well. He lives in Queens.
