The Swedish Chamber Orchestra is taking a trip this November and bringing distinguished company. Mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager will sing Anna I in Weill’s Die sieben Todsünden with the vocal ensemble amarcord as the Family, under the baton of HK Gruber. Kirchschlager will also interpret selections from Der Silbersee, and the orchestra will perform two works of Darius Milhaud, La création du monde and Le boeuf sur le toit. Gruber has emerged as one of Weill’s leading champions, while in recent years Kirchschlager has turned to Weill repeatedly, with performances of Die sieben Todsünden, Die Dreigroschenoper, and Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny under her belt. With the two of them working together, great things should result.
The tour will begin in Sweden and continue into Germany, with a stop in Vienna. The schedule runs as follows:
7 November: Örebro Konserthus
8 November: Stockholm Konserthus
14 November: Neumarkt, Germany (Reitstadel)
15 November: Tuttlingen Stadthalle
17 November: Vienna Konzerthaus
18 November: Düsseldorf Tonhalle
