This 146-page guide provides an overview of the collection, policies governing access and copying, descriptions of individual series and five appendices. Much of the information from the Guide is included in this web site under the Weill-Lenya Research Center.

The Foundation has prepared sourcebooks on five of Weill's major stage works:

  • Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny
  • Street Scene
  • Der Silbersee
  • Lady in the Dark
  • Die sieben Tods√ľnden

The books include information about genesis, the premiere performance, and reception history. They cover the premiere of each work in detail, with reference to commentary and correspondence by the authors and members of the production team, and to contemporary reviews. The sourcebooks also note subsequent major productions, recordings, and adaptations, reprinting reviews, program notes, etc. Each sourcebook is extensively illustrated in black and white.
